Faroe Islands Trip // May 15-22, 2025

Joel & I are so excited to take our hospitality on the road, and create the perfect itinerary for you in the Faroe Islands! Located between Iceland and Norway, these islands are absolutely beautiful, and we want to give you an up-close look into Faroese culture.

Here’s what this trip includes:

  1. Flights from Copenhagen to Vagar, Faroe Islands

  2. Help securing flights to Copenhagen (with an entire course on credit card points included if you’d like to get your flight from your home airport to Copenhagen for free)

  3. Airport transfers, and all transportation while on the islands

  4. A Spa Package at Ress Spa in Torshavn

  5. All accommodations for our time together (Both in Gasadalur & Torshavn)

  6. All ferry and hiking pass fees

  7. Guided day trip to see puffins on the island of Mykines

  8. A guided wool experience to learn about the history of the islands, and a private shopping experience included

  9. A farm-to-table dinner with a local Faroese couple

  10. All meals except one dinner, where you get to choose where you eat

  11. Guided hikes throughout our trip itinerary

Trip Itinerary:

Day 1: Fly to the Faroe Islands from Copenhagen Airport. In the afternoon, we’ll stop for photos at beautiful viewpoints before heading to our cottages. We’ll also explore the infamous Mulafossur waterfall today, and enjoy a home-cooked welcome dinner at our accommodation, featuring local cuisine.

Day 2: Today, we’re heading about 30 minutes from our cottages to do the Bosdalafossur/Traelanipa Hike. Also known as the “Lake Above the Sea,” or “Slave Cliff,” this hike provides incredible scenery, and you’ll get a glimpse of the Bosdalafossur waterfall - where the lake dumps into the sea in a stunning, powerful waterfall (4 mile hike total, fairly easy!). If it’s a clear day, we might even get a glimpse of Trollkonufingur, an incredible rock formation with quite the story. We’ll head back to our cabin for time to explore the area on your own or relax, and then enjoy a farm-to-table dinner in the little town of Gasadalur with a local farming couple.

Day 3: We’ll be on a full-day excursion today to the island of Mykines! Known for puffins, we’ll be able to explore the island, get up close and personal with wildlife, and visit the island’s infamous lighthouse.

Day 4: Today, we’ll get up early to drive to the small town of Tjornuvik on Streymoy Island. You’ll have time to explore the grass-roof village, check out some old Viking-era graves, take pictures of the black sand beach, and even go for a short walk along the pier if you’d like. We’ll also stop at the Fossa waterfall today, and get up close and personal with it on this 0.7 mile roundtrip hike. We’ll stop for some photos before heading to Saksun (population 9!), where you’ll be able to hike to the Norwegian Sea (3 miles total, easy). Dinner together back at our accommodations.

Day 5: We’ll be leaving our adorable cottages in Gasadalur to head to the capital city of Torshavn today! We’ll drive first to the town of Klaksvik. Here, we’ll be hiking to see incredible views of the fjords and the town below, hiking to the top of Klakkur (a 2.5 mile, moderate hike). If we have time, we’ll also head to the very tip of the island to see a cute town right on the water. We’ll enjoy dinner in Torshavn together after checking into our hotel.

Day 6: When the sheep outnumber the people on the island (70,000 sheep to 50,000 people), you know that wool is an important part of Faroese life. Today, we’ll be taking an insider look at the wool industry, the history of the Faroe Islands, and end with a private shopping experience. We’ll take you to our favorite brewery/restaurant for lunch, and then give you time to explore and shop to your heart’s content. Dinner on your own tonight!

Day 7: Today, we’ll enjoy a spa day in Torshavn at Ress Spa, and have more time to explore this quaint little town before our goodbye dinner altogether at our very favorite restaurant in downtown Torshavn.

Day 8: Head back to Copenhagen on the afternoon flight to depart for the US.

$4,575 per person will be divided into three payments over the next year.
